DIRECTOR BIO
Sorrel Brae is a filmmaker sought out for his visual storytelling, emotional performances, and sharp observational comedy.
A former editor, he transitioned into directing after winning the Young Director Award in Cannes and has collaborated with Anonymous Content, Humble, and Native Content for a wide range of clients including Procter & Gamble, Citibank, Firefox, Don Julio, Pacific Life, Mizuno, Bank of America, NFL, Motorola, PNC Bank, Blue Cross, Rocket Mortgage, TaylorMade and American Express. Along the way, he has picked up numerous honors, including a Telly, Hatch, ADDY, Creative Media, MIXX, Webby, and One Show Award.
As an independent writer and director, Sorrel’s short films have played on the Sundance Channel, been selected as a Vimeo Staff Pick and Short of the Week, and screened at Austin, Brooklyn, Nashville, Los Angeles, New York, Portland and Paris film festivals, among others.
Born on a commune in Maine, he spent time in Nepal, Australia, Guatemala, New Zealand, California, and Colorado before moving to New York where he now lives with his family.
He can also make a fire without matches.
